Despite short-term uncertainty, distributed PV remains a key part of China's new energy system with continued policy support. In September 2025, China announced new NDC targets: by 2035, non-fossil energy to exceed 30% of consumption, and wind+solar capacity to reach six times the 2020 level (aiming for 3.6 TW). The 15th Five-Year Plan proposal also calls for promoting carbon peak, developing distributed energy, and building zero-carbon factories and parks.
Industry experts suggest China's distributed PV sector adopt PV-storage integration to explore applications in zero-carbon parks, virtual power plants, and green power direct supply — reducing curtailment risk while driving stable capacity growth. (Wu Mengyao)
